Portico have built a brand new warehouse. Located within Portsmouth International Port with direct access to the national motorway network, the new purpose built cargo warehouse is opening for business next week.
The main section of the warehouse has a spacious footprint of 3,200m², with an internal volume of approximately 35,000m³. Combined with a vast 10m x 7.5m main door opening, means the space is suitable for storing a comprehensive range of goods and cargo. To ensure maximum flexibility, there is a link tunnel connecting to the building next door, which has a loading bay and two new state-of-the-art dock levellers.
Portico are committed to reducing carbon footprint, so the warehouse will be fitted with a 350kw Solar PV system, making it fully carbon neutral and ensuring it fits with businesses own sustainability objectives.
It also boasts an additional footprint of 800m² within the extension section of the warehouse, which has internal volume of this section is approx. 11,000m³. This can be taken on a standalone basis, or in addition to space taken in the main section. The extension even has its own door separating from the main section, with an opening of 7.5m x 5m.
A unique feature of this new warehouse is a slab engineered specifically so it can handle a 28t fork truck. This means our fleet of eight 8t fork trucks can easily work inside too.
The warehouse is adjacent to our two, multifunctional deep-water quays, and to make your journey to the motorway network even quicker, there is a new access road out onto the motorway.
