Harbour Vets opens new £1m practice

July 12, 2023

Harbour Vets has opened its new £1m million practice in Southsea, following the £1m relocation of Harbour Vets Havant site in February.  The Southsea practice has been relocated two miles north-east from Villiers Road to a brand new 3,500 square foot modern building in the Pompey Centre.

The new upgraded property will enable the practice to increase the number of clients it serves and significantly expand the range of clinical services it offers to pets in the locality.

Harbour Vets is part of the CVS group, one of the leading integrated veterinary service providers in the UK.  In the last five years the company has invested nearly £80 million in its sites, facilities and equipment.

The new purpose-built building is all on one level and houses the latest veterinary facilities and equipment. Three consulting rooms have been installed to offer a greater number of appointments, along with a state-of-the-art operating theatre with the latest veterinary equipment. The site also houses an isolation ward, in-house laboratory, dental suite and digital x-ray facilities.

The CVS group  operates across small animal, farm animal, equine, laboratories and crematoria, with over 500 veterinary practices and referral centres in the UK, the Republic of Ireland and the Netherlands.

Dan Bates, Regional Director for the Harbour Vets Southsea practice, said:

“We had outgrown our existing practice on Villiers Road. It was becoming difficult for us to offer the highest level of service and quality of animal care that we are accustomed to. So this is an exciting move for us. The Pompey Centre is a fantastic new site in a central location with a superb range of facilities. It’ll mean that we’ll be able to look after many patients right here and it’ll enable us to grow the number of patients we see.”

The previous Harbour Vets Southsea Practice was based in a small property on Villiers, in a residential area of Southsea. It has served the area for 45 years.
