Site details:

Portsmouth demolition specialist Hughes and Salvidge has started carefully bringing down Horatia and Leamington Houses from the top down and a design team from local authority housing experts Karakusevic Carson Architects is helping us to masterplan for the redevelopment of the site.

We have launched a community panel which is at the heart of everything we are doing with the deconstruction of the blocks and with the redevelopment of the area.

We have committed to replacing the blocks with a minimum of the 272 council-owned homes that will be lost. The community panel has asked us to improve green open space, play areas and community facilities. This will be part of a high quality, sustainable, mixed-use urban neighbourhood that is attractive to residents and works well with the surrounding area.

If you have any questions about the deconstruction, call  site liaison officer Lewis Smith on 07387 411668, or email lewis.smith@hughesandsalvidge.co.uk

If you would like to join the community panel; call Tim Raw on 07901 100537 or email tim.raw@portsmouthcc.gov.uk
