Portsmouth City Council is creating a new hub in Bransbury Park which will bring sports, swimming, and healthcare together.
The plans include a new leisure centre with a swimming pool and GP surgery, along with a relocated play area with brand new equipment. The much-loved miniature railway will be kept.
Sports facilities in the centre will include a new 25m x 4 lane pool and learner pool, with supporting gym and studios. A new outdoor changing pavilion will also be built to replace the existing one, and the free-to-access artificial football pitch, plus a multi-use outdoor sports court, will be re-provided on site.
This modern and ecologically-sound project will mean that this much-loved green space can be enjoyed by local people for many years to come.
It’s all part of the council’s commitment to invest in sport across the city, totalling nearly £20 million since 2017.
